6th June NHS NIPE Working Group
Big responsibility. Big opportunities. CHF attended the NHS Newborn and Infant Physical Examination (NIPE) Advisory Group where there was a dynamic exchange of information including updates on the technical aspects of the NIPE system which screens newborn babies within 72 hours of birth and then again between 6 and 8 weeks of age, for conditions relating to their eyes, heart, hips and testes.
Following the meeting, a new IT platform for the system is currently being explored and a ‘go live’ date presently scheduled for spring 2019.
Our next NIPE Advisory Group meeting takes place in the autumn.
