World Down Syndrome Day

CHF are focusing ahead to World Down Syndrome Day that will take place this year on:

Monday 21 March 2016

And we reflect on the significant start to 2016 where insights into the genetic basis for Down Syndrome and it’s associated heart defects were further discerned through the collaborative research of Prof Victor Tybulewicz of the Francis Crick Institute and Imperial College London and Prof Elizabeth Fisher of University College London.

CHF also encourage all newly diagnosed parents of our inspiring Down’s children to make contact with CHF’s member group: Down’s Heart Group.

The Down’s Heart Group provide exemplary support and personalised Information Packs as well as parent-to-parent contact and welcome all calls to their telephone helpline:  0300 102 1644.

The Group benefits from the knowledge of several medical experts who provide ongoing advice, as well as close links with major cardiac units, heart groups and Down Syndrome organisations.  All of this places them in an ideal position to represent families and campaign for service changes where needed.
