CHF & Safe in School event at Parliament today
Today, the Children’s Heart Federation (CHF) together with over 30 groups from the Health Conditions in Schools Alliance join parents; carers; and children with health conditions in a dynamic information exchange with MPs and researchers for the Safe in School event at Parliament.
This event is a great way for parents and children to share their insight with MPs and convey best opportunities on how to implement the changes that CHF and our colleagues in the Health Conditions in Schools Alliance and heart children and families are requesting.
These are:
- Asking the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted) to include as a part of their regular inspections, a check of schools’ medical conditions in schools’ policies;
- And we would like the Department of Education to ensure schools have their medical conditions policies published on their website so that parents; carers; teachers and teaching assistants are also fully aware of them too.
Watch our social media platforms for today’s 23 October Safe in School event.
Let’s make this day in 2017 a watershed moment for supporting all children with health conditions in schools.
