CHF are recruiting for three new steering groups

Help CHF and children with heart conditions nationwide by sharing your experience in one of our steering groups.

CHF are aiming to recruit for three new steering groups that will advise on issues relating to children with congenital or acquired heart conditions through lived and professional experience.

We want to hear from:

  • Young people with heart conditions (you should be ages 10-25 and at any stage of your heart journey).
  • Professionals in the cardiac sectors (you could be a nurse, radiographer, outreach professional, care worker, consultant or any healthcare professional supporting paediatric cardiac services).
  • Carers (you could be a parent, carer, sibling or friend with experience caring for children with heart conditions.

Children’s Heart Federation (CHF) is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to equality and diversity within the workforce, our volunteers and in all opportunities provided by CHF. We are committed to having a team with diverse skills, experiences, and abilities.

Your participation in a steering group will help us to monitor how well we are reaching our organisational aims. Finding the right mix of skills and experience is important when building an effective steering group, and we encourage a commitment to participate from all areas of involvement with heart conditions in children.

What does a steering group do?

Steering group members are the critical supportive friends of CHF that will bring experience and perspective to enhance the work we do, alongside providing knowledge and insight to support us in the delivery of our mission.

Steering group members will contribute to the development of our new business plan, programming and the support we can offer children with heart conditions nationwide.

As a steering group member there is no personal liability associated with joining.

What does being a steering group member mean?

This is a volunteer position that is open to all.

You will need to be able to commit to four  meetings per year- at least one of which will be in person and CHF will cover travel expenses.

Complete the questionnaire by 28 February to apply.
