Ascot Windsor & Eton Express - Dad getting skates on for 26-mile trip after daughter's heart surgery
Proud dad Dean Lake is getting his skates on to raise awareness of a heart condition that left his baby daughter fighting for her life.
Dean’s daughter Olivia, three, needed open heart surgery at the age of seven months.
Now father-of-three Dean, 30, who lives near Woking, will be leading a group of more than 15 longboarders dressed as Santa on a 26-mile skate from London to Windsor on Saturday, December 8, to raise money for the charity Children’s Heart Federation – arriving about 3pm.
Dean said: “While Olivia laid in intensive care at the Royal Brompton Hospital I looked around at all of the other babies and young children fighting for their lives, some in a lot more danger than Olivia.
“I knew then that I had to do something to try and help.”
