It’s Good to Talk: Roger Black & Sophie Black’s Personal Story living with Congenital Heart Disease | Heart Month 2026
We’re excited to share an exclusive “It’s Good to Talk” conversation with Olympic silver medalist and World champion sprinter Roger Black & his niece Sophie Black.
In this powerful and deeply personal conversation, Roger and Sophie, share their experiences of both being born with heart conditions, together with us and with eachother for the first time.
Roger, best known for his achievements on the global athletics stage, has long inspired audiences with his resilience and determination. Behind the medals and podium finishes, however, is a lifelong journey of managing a congenital heart condition, one that shaped both his career and his outlook on life.
Joining him is Sophie, who brings a new generation’s perspective to the conversation. Born with a heart condition, she speaks candidly about growing up with health challenges, navigating uncertainty, and finding strength in vulnerability. Together, they reflect on their experiences, advances in cardiac care, and the power of sharing open conversations about heart health
“It’s Good to Talk” with thanks to Roger Black & Sophie Black for sharing their personal stories living with Congenital Heart Disease to raise awareness and acknowledge Heart Month 2026.
