CHF are looking forward to future collaborative work addressing congenital heart disease (CHD) support for children and families.  And we especially look forward to supporting potential research being addressed by Prof Priscilla Alderson and Dr Katy Sutcliffe from University College London and would like to invite our healthcare and Heart2Heart colleagues to similarly support the timely research study that Prof Alderson and Dr Sutcliffe are addressing regarding informed and willing consent to heart surgery by heart children and their parents.

This planned research with families and healthcare staff will incorporate how young patients aged 6-15 years are informed and involved in decisions about their heart surgery.

Prof Alderson and Dr Sutcliffe are social researchers and have talked with numerous children and young people having major treatment, together with their parents and clinical staff working with them.
